NEW YORK, Nov. 22, 2022—The annual Joint Industry Forum (JIF) will convene in New York City on Thursday, Dec. 1, offering its audience expert perspectives on the state of the insurance industry, according to the �������� Information Institute (Triple-I).

Insurers and reinsurers faced in 2022 challenging economic trends, such as inflation and supply chain disruptions, and responded swiftly to extraordinary natural disasters like Hurricane Ian, which is widely expected to be the second-costliest insurance event in U.S. history, the JIF program notes.

“Given the sizable insured loss payouts incurred annually due to U.S. natural disasters, our industry is at an inflection point.�� We must move from “detect and repair” to “predict and prevent” because the traditional risk transfer tools are no longer sufficient in many lines of insurance,” said Sean Kevelighan, CEO, Triple-I, who will deliver the event’s introductory remarks at 10:30 a.m. at the ,1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York City. “Thus, we need to work with customers to better mitigate their risks to prevent the loss or claim from ever happening. This is undoubtedly a win-win — for our industry, and most importantly, our customers.”
